KUALA LUMPUR: The government is inviting members of the public to submit views and suggestions in formulating the national minimum wage for private sector workers in line with the New Economic Model (MEB) that will be propped up by a high-income economy.
In this context, Human Resource Minister Datuk Dr S.Subramaniam today launched the blogsite "national minimum wage" that would be managed by his ministry to seek views, opinions and suggestions from the public on the minimum wage.
Members of the public could submit their views through the blog which could be surfed at blog.mohr.gov.my or e-mail the suggestions to gaji_minimum@mohr.gov.my.
"The Human Resource Ministry welcomes any suggestion, opinion and idea or comments that could be channelled through the blog or via e-mail to assist the government in drawing up the policy and strategy on the minimum wage," he said when launching the blog, here.
He said it was undeniable that there were still a small section of the population who were living below the Poverty Line, in fact there were workers earning less than RM750 per month. - Bernama
